Bearded Dragon

My Bearded Dragon

Canary

What should I feed my Beardie?

Bearded dragons are omnivorous and love insects, fruit and vegetables.

The list of food for bearded dragons is extensive
and they will let you know which ones they like and which ones not so fussy. You can take food to a beardie but you can't make him/her eat!

Here are some to try.
Live foods:
Crickets, meal worms, dubia roaches. Remember you need to feed these too as good healthy food leads to good healthy beardies. Get yourself a good mini terrarium and use the Insect & Arachnid Substrate to look after them.

Fruit:
Figs, melon, apple, mango, plums, strawberries, pears, grapes and raisins.

Vegetables:
Okra, sweet potato, cabbage, parsnip, courgette, green beans, peas, rocket, coriander, kale, clover, dandelions (a particular favourite of Derek)

Warning TOXIC. Do not feed these to your beardie.
Avocado, rhubarb, fireflies, wild insects.
Spinach and beet tops (OK in very small quantities but can lead to calcium deficiency), iceberg lettuce (too much water and not enough nutrition)
